As a consultant serving the Information Technology interests of small and medium sized businesses I continually acquire a wide breadth of insights into how companies handle their IT requirements and systems. Fifteen years of consultative experience and seven years as Director of IT for a national confectionary manufacturer gives me unique qualifications and capabilities.
I frequently discover that the
quality of IT Systems is lacking. Careful planning often gives way to ad hoc provisioning meant to satisfy an immediate need and IT resources are acquired over time in a piece by piece manner. The result has many faults.
- Overuse of Helpdesk support. Well planned systems, products and integration reduces the need for Helpdesk support.
- Replacement of systems and products when it is discovered they are inadequate or just plain wrong for what is needed
- Expensive fees from consultants interested in promoting their own interests and profits
- Lower levels of workplace productivity
I advocate a strong commitment to planning. I understand that most individuals who operate and guide their businesses are interested in, but don't necessarily understand, the workings and language of Information Technology. Issues are exacerbated when IT components are put in place piecemeal; with a focus on short-term solutions without regard to the extended needs of the business.
I focus my services and work with CEO / Owner partners on strategic business solutions. Existing partners who bought off on this are pleased with the results..

Two programs are offered for your review
________________________________________
On demand consulting consists of engagements for work on an opportune basis. An appointment is made to determine the scope of work, an agreement for deliverables, terms and conditions is entered into and the work is performed.
The second program offering has proven highly desirable and successful. It is for Managed Services. Managed Services consists of a regular Senior IT consultant with a one year contract for Computer / Network analysis, design and support and paid for quarterly, in advance, at a significant discount. The minimum per visit duration is an eight hour day as follows:
48 - eight hour days per year
24 - eight hour days per year
12 - eight hour days per year
For each of the Managed Services programs above the first payment is due at signing the appropriate program contract and for ¼ of the annual fee. Subsequent payments are due in succeeding three month intervals
The success of the Managed Services program has been for smaller companies and remote facilities who can not justify a direct hire Information Technology manager but have a need for computer, network and telephony services. The program offers those services for a fraction of the cost of a full time direct hire
*No additional fees or rates are charged for travel for services within 20 miles of Homewood / Flossmoor, Illinois

Enhancing productivity: the unrecognized IT benefit
- Many companies / organizations still push around a lot of pencils, pens and paper
- Schools and other institutions and companies still fill out forms where name, address etc. are hand written over and over for each form
- Hand processed tasks too often yield expensive undesired results
- When IT automates and streamlines these and other procedures, methodologies and systems other staff show the productivity gains. For example when a staff member processing 100 applications can subsequently process more accurately 200 per day.

Ed Says....
“My experience in working with Terry, is that he is a driven, thorough, business savvy professional. He combines a strong strategic - big picture- orientation with a good feel for the tactical detail required to accomplish specific tasks. Terry knows how to build a good team, keep it motivated, and does not hesitate to give credit to an individual when it is due. Another strength is Terry's knowing how to keep a team -that necessarily is working on varied tasks- heading in the same direction towards the common goal.”

“Terry is a highly respected manager who really knows the meaning of Team. He communicates his expectations and delegates responsibilities without micro-managing. He is always open to discuss new ideas, concerns or thoughts from his team. He is an exceptional liaison between higher management and his team providing constructive feedback and praise. Working at American Licorice Company Terry strove to promote the IT Department and inform management and users of how hard we were working to solve each and every challenge. He has creative ideas and solutions that he puts to use in finding ways to increase management, user and IT user productivity. I would highly recommend Terry for any position that he is aiming for.”

“I worked closely with Terry from early 2000 through November 2007 at American Licorice, in his capacity as Director - IT. My responsibilities, as SVP Marketing & Sales, encompassed development and implementation of integrated reporting and information dissemination systems, for the Customer and Consumer Marketing teams and also for a direct Sales management team and 45 sales broker offices and all direct-buying customers. Terry's leadership of the IT team resulted in these marketing and sales teams being able to seamlessly implement workable systems, customized for individual team needs; and for the hardware required to stay connected to both internal and external customers and to provide these customers with successful integrated solutions. In addition, having Terry on the Senior Leadership Team gave him a strategic role in the company and he was able to provide a skilled and focused IT management team with a broad-based business view of individual department and corporate needs. Terry is an expert in his field and, importantly, is able to quickly understand the needs of his customers; prioritize resources and provide fully integrated solutions. I highly recommend Terry.”

“Terry joined us in response to the companies search for a technical sales position. I hired Terry on his second interview. He was successful immediately as clients appreciated his knowledge, follow through and critical thinking. I was pleased with Terry's sales representation and supported his desire to move into a consulting position with our firm. As a Senior Network Analyst Terry quickly became a favorite of our clients. He demonstrated knowledge over a broad range of technologies, interoperability between vendors and the ability to learn the specifics of particular assignments. In his eight plus years with Kenwood/IKON he received recognition into the 100% club every year and in 1997 I chose him to receive our Presidents award, a designation based on attitude, work ethic and financial performance. I also highly recommend Terry as a result of his high values, moral character and integrity. I can recommend Terry in confidence to others who can gain from his knowledge, experience and talents.”
